Commercial revenues buoy Los Angeles Airport

Concessions turnover at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is heading back towards pre-2001 levels, encouraged by overseas passenger spending and a strong recovery in duty free sales. And that increased revenue is expected to grow still further as a major renovation of the Tom Bradley International Terminal continues until 2010. DFS Group’s duty free sales topped US$100 million in 2007, the best result in the post-September 11 era. Under the terms of its concession with LAWA DFS returned some US$32 million in revenues to the airport.
